BILL BISSETT: is the author of over 70 volumes of poetry, and is one of the most internationally acclaimed poets alive today. Best known for his use of unique orthography and for incorporating visual elements in his printed poetry, and his performances of “concrete sound” poetry, sound effects and chanting, critics have called him a visionary a linguistic mystic, shaman, prophet and a “one man civilization”, whose voice and words are featured on the Chemical Brothers award winning cd, We Are The Night. bissett is also a world renowned artist with recent shows in Whitbey Island, at the Rob Shouten Gallery in Washington State, The Cowichan Arts Center, Duncan BC as well as previous one person shows at The Vancouver Art Gallery Modern Fuel Kingston, Art Gallery Pteros Art Gallery Toronto, and The Upstairs Gallery in Toronto. His recent Cd’s are: “ths is erth thees ar peopul”, “luddites 86-91” and “deth interrupts th dansing” with Pete Dako. RACHEL BLAU DUPLESSIS: is the author of the long poem Drafts, begun in 1986, and collected most recently in two books published by Salt Publishing-- Pitch: Drafts 77-95 (2010) and The Collage Poems of Drafts (2011) Other volumes include Torques: Drafts 58-76 (Salt Publishing, 2007) as well as Drafts 1-38, Toll (Wesleyan U.P., 2001) and Drafts 39-57, Pledge, with Draft unnnumbered: Précis (Salt Publishing, 2004). Her forthcoming critical book (2012) is Purple Passages: Pound, Eliot, Zukofsky, Olson, Creeley and the Ends of Patriarchal Poetry from University of Iowa Press. In 2006, two books of her innovative essays were published: Blue Studios: Poetry and Its Cultural Work (2006), and the ground-breaking The Pink Guitar: Writing as Feminist Practice ([1990] 2006) both from University of Alabama Press. She has written several other critical books and co-edited three anthologies as well as editing The Selected Letters of George Oppen (1990). Her work in poetry and criticism has been translated into French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Serbian, with book-length collections expected in French and Italian. A feature in Jacket2 on her work, edited by Patrick Pritchett, is going up in summer 2011, and will include considerations by Eric Keenaghan and Chris Tysh. ADEENA KARASICK: is an internationally acclaimed and award winning poet, media-artist and author of seven books of poetry and poetic theory, as well as 4 videopoems regularly showcased at International Film Festivals, including the audacious “I Got A Crush on Osama”, aired on Fox News. All her work is marked with an urban, Jewish, feminist aesthetic that continually challenges linguistic habits and normative modes of meaning production. For over 20 years her linguistically provocative, philosophically complex wordplay continues to excite audiences worldwide. She has recently been granted the “Exuberance is Beauty” Award for Amuse Bouche and the MPS Mobile Award for being the world’s first “Mobile Poet”, where her work is now on mobile devices (cell phones and smart phones and karaoke apparati throughout the world. Engaged with the art of combination and turbulence of thought, it is a testament to the creative and regenerative power of language and its infinite possibilities for pushing meaning to the limits of its semantic boundaries. Her writing has been described as "electricity in language" (Nicole Brossard), "plural, cascading, exuberant in its cross-fertilization of punning and knowing, theatre and theory" (Charles Bernstein) "a tour de force of linguistic doublespeak" (Globe and Mail) and "opens up the possibilities of reading" (Vancouver Courier). NICOLAS CARRAS : Compositeur, arrangeur, pianiste, artiste sonore et poète. Co-fondateur du groupe sos-art.com. Vient du classique et du Jazz. A l’age de 19 ans il écrit ses premiers poèmes, travail d’écriture qu’il mènera en parallèle de sa recherche musicale, plusieurs recueils à ce jour non publiés, ainsi qu’au travail autour de la poésie. Ancien élève de l’American School of Modern Music, de Peter Giron et de Jeff Gardner. En mai 2001, Il fonde avec Tristan Mory, plasticien vidéaste, Eric Cassar, poète et architecte, Fanny Gosse, photographe plasticienne et graphiste ; le collectif www.sos-art.com (web galerie, organisation de soirées artistiques sur Paris). Il travaille actuellement également avec John M. Bennett poète américain et fondateur de Luna Bisonte production (poésie contemporaine) et Allan Revich (Canada) avec qui il fonde "The W.I.S Project". TRUONG TRAN : Author & Visual artist, Truong has written and published five books of poetry, The Book of Perceptions, placing the accents, dust and conscience (winner of the 2002 SF State Poetry Center Prize), within the margin and four letter words. Truong’s work is innovative on the page and is engaged with troubling issues of language and culture. His poems exemplify the issues that are being explored in contemporary American poetry. Unfortunately, the website does not yet contain excerpts from Truong’s most recent book, four letter words. Ses interprétations incluent le role de Timothy avec La Scene National de Quimpers dans leur production de Strike Up The Band de George Gershwin; Mr. Mister dans Cradle will Rock, de Marc Blitzstein, avec les Clefs de Chants et Lille Opera; plusiers roles dans Jaques Brel is Alive and Well, de Mort Shuman,avec le companie Parisbrel, Figaro dans Les Noces de Figaro de Mozart, avec Westcoast Opera. Interprète de musique classique et contemporaine, ses interprétations incluent la performance avant-garde Eight Songs for a Mad King de Sir Peter Maxwell Davies et Time and Beyond de Leslie Basset. Ses textes ont été publiés dans plus que 50 journals à travers le monde et elle a reçu plusieurs prix littéraires. Elle a vecu au Panama, Mexique, Londre, Paris, San Franciso, Denver et actuellement à West Virginia ou elle est professeur.

Eric Houser est né à Lyon, et vit et travaille à Paris. Il a écrit et publié quelques livres de poésie : (le couteau) (contrat maint, Marseille, 2005), Encore vous précédé d’Auto-di-Dax (Les petits matins, Paris, 2006), Mon journal pour Nina (éditions de l’attente, Bordeaux, 2007), Poèmes en langue vulgaire (éditions Action poétique, Paris, 2009). Il écrit régulièrement des chroniques et des critiques pour Action poétique, Cahier Critique de Poésie, et sur sitaudis.fr. Il a traduit des passages de Semiramis if I remember de Keith Waldrop (publiés dans la revue Vacarme, n° 41 en 2007 et n° 46 en 2009) et il y aura quelques traductions en anglais de ses propres textes dans la revue Aufgabe. Le titre de son projet actuel d’écriture est Les souffrances du jeune houser, une sorte de roman en poèmes de 12 lignes chacun.

He has sung Guglielmo in Cosi Fan Tutte and Figaro in the Marriage of Figaro. He has performed in Sir Peter Maxwell-Davie’s Eight Songs for a Mad King and Gruber’s Frankenstein!!. He has performed several world and North American premiers of new song cycles and new music theater works. His One-Man show with the songs of Kurt Weill was awarded ‘Outstanding Solo Performance’ at the Ottawa Theatre Festival and ‘Outstanding Musical Production’ at the Winnipeg Theatre Festival. London’s Musical Stages Magazine said: "Bremner Duthie has.... a voice of power and inner beauty that commands the whole space..... It takes more than just an expressive voice to really communicate Kurt Weill songs - it takes love, fear, regrets, wistfulness, loneliness, tragedy and charm. Of Colombian and Puerto Rican descent, writer and scholar Sandy Florian was born in New York and raised in Latin America. She holds an MFA from Brown and a PhD from University of Denver. She is the author of five prose-poetry collections: On Wonderland & Waste (Sidebrow Press, 2010) Prelude to Air From Water (Elixir Press, 2010), The Tree of No (Action Books, 2008), 32 Pedals & 47 Stops (Tarpaulin Sky Press, 2007) and Telescope (Action Books, 2006). Her creative work has appeared in over 50 international journals including Bombay Gin, Gulf Coast, /nor, Gargoyle, Indiana Review, and New Orleans Review, and she's been awarded a residency at Caldera Arts, a writer's grant supported residency at the Vermont Studio Center, and an affiliate residency at Headlands Center for the Arts, as well as literary prizes from Elixir Press, New Voices, and Brown University. She has made residence in Panama, Mexico, London, Paris, San Francisco, Denver, and now West Virginia, and her current semi-autobiographical project focuses on the hybridity of generic identities as a reaction to postmodern trauma. She also serves as one of the "other" editors for Tarpaulin Sky Journal.

Philippe Beck, écrivain de la poésie et de la prose, philosophe, professeur et traducteur, est né en 1963 à Strasbourg et vit à Paris. « Proche en cela des Romantiques allemands, Beck ouvre l’acte poétique au mouvement réflexif infini. »--a écrit Laurent Margantin http://www.oeuvresouvertes.net/spip.php?article230 Cela vient surement de sa recherche à la fois de la littérature et de la philosophie. Puisqu’après une maîtrise de lettres et une agrégation de philosophie, Philippe Beck a soutenu une thèse de doctorat de philosophie (Histoire et imagination) sous la direction de Jacques Derrida. Maître de conférences en Philosophie à l'université de Nantes depuis 1995, il y dispense spécialement des cours dans le domaine de l'esthétique, s'attachant notamment à préciser la différence entre littérature et philosophie. En 1990, il est un membre fondateur de la revue de phénoménologie Alter (ENS de Saint-Cloud). Fondateur et rédacteur en chef de la revue de poésie Quaderno (éd. Il est par ailleurs membre du comité de rédaction des revues Cités et Droits de cités (PUF) ainsi que de la revue Agenda de la pensée contemporaine (Flammarion). Philippe Beck, born on 21 April 1963 in Strasbourg, studied literature and philosophy at the University of Nantes. As a poet, he made his debut in 1996 at the age of thirty-two with the collection Garde-manche hypocrite (Hypocritical Oversleeve). In 2003, a thoroughly revised version of it appeared, with the title Garde-manche Deux (Oversleeve Two). During the seven years between the two versions, the author published no less than nine collections of poetry; since then, many more have appeared. If you add the extensive intellectual biography Beck l’impersonnage (Beck the Impersonality, 2006) to this list, you cannot avoid the feeling that—according to John Fenoghen (tr John Irons) that “you are dealing with a really single-minded person. Eleni Sikelianos est poète (plus récemment du recueil Body Clock (Coffee House Press, 2008) et du chapbook The Abstracted Heart of Hours & Days (Bonfire Press, 2008) et écrivain d’une mémoire. Ses écrits joue sur le débordement du poème par l’introduction d’images et de dessins ainsi que de documents historiques et scientifiques, qui portent la trace de son vif intérêt pour l’art en général (et en particulier le Land Art et les formes d’art dites site-specific) ainsi que sa passion pour les sciences, dont la zoologie, l’océanographie, la chimie, la microbiologie et la cosmologie. Eleni est l’arrière petite-fille du grand poète grec Angelos Sikelianos (1884-1951), et elle a vécu, en pleine époque hippie, à Santa Barbara (Californie), avec sa mère, une enfance plutôt « bohème », ne voyant que de loin en loin un père absent à qui elle consacrera un émouvant mémoire, The Book of Jon. Son père, musicien, accroc à l’héroïne, après trois ans de déréliction dans la rue, est mort d’une overdose dans un motel d’Alburquerque en 2001. Passionnée de zoologie et d’océanographie, elle entame des études de biologie et passe un an à Paris, étudiante à l’Institut Catholique. Après quoi, à vingt ans, elle part explorer le Vieux Monde pendant dix-huit mois, en train, en stop, en bateau, de Londres à Istanbul, du Caire à Nairobi. De retour en 1989 aux États-Unis, elle s’inscrit en « écriture » à Naropa, l’université bouddhiste de Boulder (Colorado). Elle lit de la poésie depuis toujours, mais c’est sur ce campus que diverses rencontres l’enhardissent à en écrire. En 1993, elle publie son premier recueil : To Speak While Dreaming. Elle habite alors plusieurs années à New York, où elle écrit les poèmes de Earliest Worlds (2001) et The California Poem (2004), deux recueils dont est composé le volume paru en français. Actuellement, Eleni Sikelianos enseigne à l’Université du Colorado, à Boulder, et Denver University où elle vit avec son mari, l’écrivain Laird Hunt, et leur fille Eva. Eric Cassar est poète et architecte-ingénieur. Il a écrit plusieurs recueils où il cherche (en usant parfois de formes nouvelles) à déchirer, transpercer et dépasser les enveloppes du langage, à perturber ses résonances. En 2005, il crée l’atelier d’architecture Arkhenspaces. Il est également co-fondateur du groupe sos-art.com. Il vit et travaille à Paris. Eleni Sikelianos is the author of, most recently, Body Clock (Coffee House Press, 2008), and before that, both in 2004: The California Poem, a book-length exploration of growing up in her home state, from Coffee House Press; and The Book of Jon, a media-rich meditation on the nature of drug addiction, daughterhood, and death, from City Lights. Eleni’s previous books are The Monster Lives of Boys & Girls, Earliest Worlds, The Book of Tendons, The Lover's Numbers, and To Speak While Dreaming. She is the recipient of a number of awards, including the National Poetry Series (for The Monster Lives), residencies at Princeton University as a Seeger Fellow and at Yaddo and the Maison des écrivains étrangers in Brittany, a Fulbright Writer's Fellowship in Greece, a New York Foundation for the Arts Award in Nonfiction Literature, a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, two Gertrude Stein Awards for Innovative American Writing, a New York Council for the Arts Translation Award, and the James D. Phelan Award for Blue Guide. Her work has appeared in many magazines and journals, including Grand Street, Sulfur, Chicago Review, and Fence. Eleni has spent a fair amount of her life traveling by foot, thumb, train, boat and plane (including sixteen or so months hitchhiking across Europe and Africa: London to Istanbul, Cairo to Nairobi; trips to Mexico City, Oaxaca, the Yucatan, Borneo, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur; many trips to Greece; and a few years in France). She currently lives in Colorado with her husband, the fiction writer Laird Hunt, and their daughter, and she teaches in the MFA program at Naropa in Boulder, and in the Creative Ph.D. program at the University of Denver.

Eric Cassar currently lives & works in paris where he is a poet and architect-engineer. Often exploring new forms, he has written numerous books seeking to tear, puncture, or go beyond the envelopes of language, to perturb its resonances. Author of numerous chapbooks, Eric Cassar recently had his first full length book published, Instants poétiques (éditions les Vanneaux, June 2010 with a preface by Julien Blaine). Other writings have appeared in print and online reviews such as Docks or on Sos-art. He was an invited poet to the festival des voix de la méditerranée in Lodève in 2009, and many of his Vidéopoèmes (for example, série n°1, 60 vidéopoèmes) appear on Dvd. He has also written theatre, image-poems and a livret for an opera, La voix humaine réponse among other projects. In fact, in both his writing and architechtural life, Cassar has favored many collaborative projects. Finally, among his many performative artistic projects, one can note the writing and mise en scène of « M’aidée ? » a tragédy for one actrice which was put on at the théâtre de l’atelier du Plateau, Paris, 2005, and the projection of « Vidéopoèmes » at various international festivals including in Buenos-Aires, Argentina (Vidéobardo 2008 & 2010), in Bury, England (Text Festival 2009), and in the USA at Ohio State University. Jacques Demarcq: Interroge les limites du sens, questionne les cultures. Membre du collectif TXT de 1979 à 1985. Demarcq est né en 1946 à Compiègne, et il vit actuellement à Paris. Il a été postier, journaliste, prof de lettres, syndic, historien, membre de la revue TXT(1979-1985), éditeur et critique d’art, producteur de radio, prof de design. Il est toujours : traducteur, écrivain. Il a beaucoup traduit E. E. Cummings, un peu Gertrude Stein et Andrea Zanzotto. A publié plus d’une douzaine de livres personnels. Dan Machlin is the Founder and Executive Editor of Futurepoem books, a New York City based publishing collaborative that champions innovative writing. He is the author of Dear Body: (Ugly Duckling Presse 2007) which received a "Face Out" CLMP/Jerome Foundation grant for emerging writers. His other books include 6x7 (Ugly Ducking Presse), THIS SIDE FACING YOU (Heart Hammer) and IN REM (@ Press). His poems and essays have recently appeared in SOME ESSAYS ABOUT A BIBLIOGRAPHY (Ed. Tan Lin, LULU), ONE WORD: CONTEMPORARY WRITERS ON THE WORDS THEY LOVE AND LOATH (Sarabande Books), American Book Review and Crayon. His poetry has also recently been displayed at PS1 Art Museum and he has also collaborated on a full length Audio CD with singer/cellist Serena Jost (Immanent Audio). Laura Mullen is a Professor at Louisiana State University. She is the author of three collections of poetry—The Surface, After I Was Dead, and Subject—and two hybrid texts, The Tales of Horror (Kelsey Street Press 1999), and Murmur (futurepoem books 2007). Prizes for her poetry include Ironwood’s Stanford Prize, and she has been awarded a Board of Regents ATLAS grant, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a Rona Jaffe Award, among other honors. She has had several MacDowell Fellowships and is a frequent visitor at the Summer Writing Program at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa. Her work has been widely anthologized and has recently appeared or is forthcoming in Octopus, 1913, Bomb, Hotel Amerika, the Corpse, Ploughshares, and elsewhere. Her work is included in American Hybrid, just out from Norton. Recent prose has been collected in Civil Disobediences: Poetics & Politics in Action, and in other anthologies, and the Denver Quarterly recently published her essay on the poetry of John Yau. Jason Eckardt’s setting of “The Distance (This)” (from Subject) premiered at the Miller Theater in New York and was performed at the Musica Nova festival in Helsinki. She was invited to participate in the Taipei International Poetry Festival in 2009. Her fourth collection of poetry is forthcoming from the University of California Press in 2011.
