CHARLES ALEXANDER: Artist, Poet, Bookmaker, Professor, founder/director of Chax Press. Author of 6 full-length books of poetry and 13 brief chapbooks of poetry, editor of one critical work on the state of the book arts in America, author of multiple essays, articles, and reviews. Most recent books of poetry are AT the Edge OF the Sea: Pushing Water II (Singing Horse Press), Pushing Water (Cuneiform Press), and the chapbooks Some Sentences Look for Some Periods, and Two Pushing Waters, both from Little Red Leaves Textile Series. Pushing Water III is forthcoming from Cuneiform Press. Has taught literature and writing at Naropa University, University of Arizona, and elsewhere, including the University of Houston-Victoria, where he directed the MFA Creative Writing Program and managed the UHV Center for the Arts from 2014 through 2018. He is a past recipient of the Arizona Arts Award, and has participated in the TAMAAS Poetry Translation Project in Paris, the US Poets in Mexico program, and the 7th and 8th International Chinese/American Poetry & Poetics Conferences in Wuhan and Hangzhou, China. In April 2019 he was a keynote speaker and lecturer in the Swan Shakespeare Lecture series sponsored by Southwest University in Chongqing, China. In the works is his Selected Poems, translated into Mandarin Chinese by Chen Du and to be published in China. During the pandemic year he has developed and participated in various projects (reading series, poetry videos, YouTube poetry channels, virtual conferences, virtual poetry marathons, etc.) for our more and more virtual participation in poetry & poetics, and he would love nothing better than to simply go to a live poetry reading again, somewhere in this loved world. He lives in Tucson, Arizona, with his partner, the painter Cynthia Miller.

MARCO BOUBILLE: Né à Nice en 1965. D'origine italienne, a vécu et fait ses études à Paris. De cinéma et de théâtre puis de philosophie. S'installe avec sa famille en Ile de France où il travaille depuis 7 ans. Il est auteur, traducteur et critique. Il a fait publié 2 livres : "Ordre aléatoire des images" (sept. 2020  Les presses du réel/Al Dante Collection Pli), "Loi N" (déc. 2008  Les petits matins). Publications en revue :  - Extrait d'Ordre aléatoire des images dans Nioques N°16 nov. 2017 - Extraits d'Ordre aléatoire des images dans PLI N°4 -"Suppression des articles pendant la visite" mars 2003  dans la Revue "Passage d'encre" Numéro : "Impairs, passes & manques" Il a également fait 2 textes en duo avec Virginie Lalucq : "Le costume est fourni" pour une lecture en 2005 et "Contamination" pour Scriptopolis octobre 2012. BIOS:

BARBARA TOMASH: is the author of three books of

poetry: Arboreal (Apogee Press 2014), The Secret of White (Spuyten Duyvil, 2009), and Flying in Water, which won the 2005 Winnow First Poetry Award. Her poems have appeared in Colorado Review, New American Writing, Verse, VOLT, Witness, and many other journals. She lives in Berkeley, California, and teaches creative  writing at San Francisco State University.

 

JODY POU: Après avoir effectué des études de littérature aux États-Unis, Jody Pou vient en France suivre des cours de chant. Titulaire du premier prix de chant lyrique du Conservatoire de Paris, elle remporte plusieurs prix internationaux en chant baroque, avant d’amorcer une carrière tournée vers le répertoire contemporain. Elle est l'auteur de Will (Les Petits Matins, Paris, 2009) et de I thought j'irais en bloom (Le bleu du ciel, Bordeaux, 2014.) // ENGLISH: Jody Pou has lived between the US and France for many years. After receiving a first prize in singing from the Paris conservatory where, she studied Lyric and Baroque music, she began a career as a soprano soloist. She has won prizes in international competitions and sung with many ensembles throughout Europe and the US. She is the author

ROB HALPERN: is the author of Rumored Place (Krupskaya 2004), Disaster Suites (Palm Press 2009), and most recently, Music for Porn (Nightboat Books 2011). Ugly Duckling Presse will publish Common Place later this year, concluding an imagined tetralogy. Together with Taylor Brady, he also co-authored the book length poem Snow Sensitive Skin (Displaced Press 2011). Rob’s translations of Georges Perec’s early essays on aesthetics and politics can be found in various journals, including Review of Contemporary Fiction, and will appear as a collection in 2016 (Nightboat Books). He lives in San Francisco and Ypsilanti, Michigan, where he teaches at Eastern Michigan University and Huron Valley Women’s Correctional Facility. Ed Masuga is an American singer-songwriter from Berkeley, California. His music is characterized by acoustic guitar fingerpicking and a strong, mellifluous vocal style. Best known for his intricate guitar work, Masuga accompanies himself on piano, banjo, ukulele, mandolin, and harmonica. He has released three independent albums: "Ed Masuga" (2006), "Lonely Dog" (2008), and "Let Me Tune My Heartstrings" (2010). Yves di Manno est né dans le Rhône en 1954. Il vit et travaille à Paris. Depuis les années 1970, il a collaboré à de nombreuses revues, traduit plusieurs poètes nord-américains (William Carlos Williams, Ezra Pound, George Oppen, Jerome Rothenberg…) et publié une vingtaine d'ouvrages — parmi lesquels, pour la poésie : Les Célébrations (Bedou, 1980), Champs (Flammarion, 1984-1987), Kambuja (Flammarion, 1992), Partitions (Flammarion, 1995) et Un Pré, chemin vers (Flammarion, 2003). Une nouvelle suite : Terre sienne, paraît en 2012 aux éditions Isabelle Sauvage. Ses récits complets ont été réunis sous le titre de Disparaître (Didier Devillez, 1997). Il est également l'auteur d’un roman fantastique : La Montagne rituelle (Flammarion, 1998), de deux « récits en rêve » : Domicile (Denoël, 2002), Discipline (Ed. Héloïse d’Ormesson, 2005) et de deux traités de poétique active : « endquote » (Flammarion, 1999), Objets d’Amérique (José Corti, 2009). Traducteur sous divers pseudonymes de littérature populaire, responsable de la version française des Techniciens du sacré de Jerome Rothenberg (José Corti, 2008) et de l’édition des Œuvres complètes de Pierre Reverdy, il dirige par ailleurs la collection Poésie/Flammarion, où il a accueilli plus de cent-vingt titres depuis 1994. Il prépare actuellement un nouvel essai de poétique : No man’s land et la troisième édition révisée des Cantos d’Ezra Pound.

 

Cole Swensen is the author of 14 books of poetry, most recently Gravesend (U. of California, 2012) and Stele (Post-Apollo Press, 2012), and a volume of critical essays, Noise That Stays Noise (U. of Michigan Press, 2011). She is the co-editor of the 2009 Norton anthology American Hybrid and the founding editor of La Presse, a very small press that publishes contemporary French writing in English translation. A translator herself, she won the PEN USA Translation Award in 2004 and has published translations of work by Jean Frémon, Suzanne Doppelt, Nicolas Pesquès, Caroline Dubois, and others. A professor of literary arts at Brown University, she divides her life between Providence, RI and Paris.

Bremner Duthie est chanteur et acteur. Ses interprétations incluent le role de Timothy avec La Scene National de Quimpers dans leur production de Strike Up The Band de George Gershwin; Mr. Mister dans Cradle will Rock, de Marc Blitzstein, avec les Clefs de Chants et Lille Opera; plusiers roles dans Jaques Brel is Alive and Well, de Mort Shuman,avec le companie Parisbrel, Figaro dans Les Noces de Figaro de Mozart, avec Westcoast Opera. Interprète de musique classique et contemporaine, ses interprétations incluent la performance avant-garde Eight Songs for a Mad King de Sir Peter Maxwell Davies et Time and Beyond de Leslie Basset. Son spectacle ‘one-man’ avec des chansons de Kurt Weill a gagne des critiques de quatre etoiles partout dans le monde. Sandy Florian est d'origine Latino-Américaine et l'auteur de cinq livres: On Wonderland & Waste (Sidebrow Press, 2010) Prelude to Air From Water (Elixir Press, 2010), The Tree of No (Action Books, 2008), 32 Pedals & 47 Stops (Tarpaulin Sky Press, 2007) and Telescope (Action Books, 2006). Ses textes ont été publiés dans plus que 50 journals à travers le monde et elle a reçu plusieurs prix littéraires. Elle a vecu au Panama, Mexique, Londre, Paris, San Franciso, Denver et actuellement à West Virginia ou elle est professeur.

Eric Houser est né à Lyon, et vit et travaille à Paris. Il a écrit et publié quelques livres de poésie : (le couteau) (contrat maint, Marseille, 2005), Encore vous précédé d’Auto-di-Dax (Les petits matins, Paris, 2006), Mon journal pour Nina (éditions de l’attente, Bordeaux, 2007), Poèmes en langue vulgaire (éditions Action poétique, Paris, 2009). Il écrit régulièrement des chroniques et des critiques pour Action poétique, Cahier Critique de Poésie, et sur sitaudis.fr. Il a traduit des passages de Semiramis if I remember de Keith Waldrop (publiés dans la revue Vacarme, n° 41 en 2007 et n° 46 en 2009) et il y aura quelques traductions en anglais de ses propres textes dans la revue Aufgabe. Le titre de son projet actuel d’écriture est Les souffrances du jeune houser, une sorte de roman en poèmes de 12 lignes chacun.

Baritone Bremner Duthie is equally at home on the opera stage, in music theatre and performing challenging contemporary vocal works. He has sung Guglielmo in Cosi Fan Tutte and Figaro in the Marriage of Figaro. He has performed in Sir Peter Maxwell-Davie’s Eight Songs for a Mad King and Gruber’s Frankenstein!!. He has performed several world and North American premiers of new song cycles and new music theater works. His One-Man show with the songs of Kurt Weill was awarded ‘Outstanding Solo Performance’ at the Ottawa Theatre Festival and ‘Outstanding Musical Production’ at the Winnipeg Theatre Festival. London’s Musical Stages Magazine said: "Bremner Duthie has.... a voice of power and inner beauty that commands the whole space..... It takes more than just an expressive voice to really communicate Kurt Weill songs - it takes love, fear, regrets, wistfulness, loneliness, tragedy and charm. Of Colombian and Puerto Rican descent, writer and scholar Sandy Florian was born in New York and raised in Latin America. She holds an MFA from Brown and a PhD from University of Denver. She is the author of five prose-poetry collections: On Wonderland & Waste (Sidebrow Press, 2010) Prelude to Air From Water (Elixir Press, 2010), The Tree of No (Action Books, 2008), 32 Pedals & 47 Stops (Tarpaulin Sky Press, 2007) and Telescope (Action Books, 2006). Her creative work has appeared in over 50 international journals including Bombay Gin, Gulf Coast, /nor, Gargoyle, Indiana Review, and New Orleans Review, and she's been awarded a residency at Caldera Arts, a writer's grant supported residency at the Vermont Studio Center, and an affiliate residency at Headlands Center for the Arts, as well as literary prizes from Elixir Press, New Voices, and Brown University. She has made residence in Panama, Mexico, London, Paris, San Francisco, Denver, and now West Virginia, and her current semi-autobiographical project focuses on the hybridity of generic identities as a reaction to postmodern trauma. She also serves as one of the "other" editors for Tarpaulin Sky Journal.

French Poet Eric Houser is originally from Lyon but lives in Paris. He has also published texts in micro-editions: somatic limit (Little Single, Éric Suchère, 2003), je ne suis pas je t’ - rup & rud, (Sébastien Smirou, 2004) as well as in anthologies: patch !
