Chris Pusateri is a London-based American writer Born in Ohio who has lived in Denver, Mexico City and Kingston, Jamaica. He is the author of several books of poetry, most recently Semblance (Dusie, 2013), Common Time (Steerage, 2012), which was shortlisted for the Colorado Book Award, Molecularity (Dusie, 2011) and Anon (BlazeVOX, 2008) His poetry and critical prose has appeared in The Iowa Review, Tarpaulin Sky, The Conversant, American Letters & Commentary, Boston Review, Chicago Review, Jacket and Verse as well as in the anthology Litscapes: Collected US Writings (Steerage Press/Illinois State University, 2015). A librarian by trade, he writes book reviews and critical prose for a number of periodicals in the US and elsewhere. Pusateri also serves as senior editor for Something on Paper, a multimedia journal of poetics. This is his second reading for Ivy, and we are glad to have him back after
Born in Japan, Michelle Naka Pierce is the author of nine titles, including TRI/VIA, co-authored with Veronica Corpuz (Erudite Fangs/ Pub-Lush, 2003); Beloved Integer (PubLush, 2007); Symptom of Color (Dusie, 2011), She, A Blueprint with art by Sue Hammond West (BlazeVox, 2011); and Continuous Frieze Bordering Red, awarded Fordham’s Poets Out Loud Editor’s Prize (2012)—and which documents the migratory patterns of the hybrid as she travels the floating borders in Rothko's Seagram murals. Her creative work has been anthologized in For the Time Being: The Bootstrap Book of Poetic Journals and Saints of Hysteria: A Half-Century of Collaborative American Poetry. Pierce has collaborated with artists, dancers, and filmmakers. She is the editor of Something on Paper, an online poetics journal: www.somethingonpaper.org. From 2011–2015, she served as dean of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Currently, she lives in London with the poet Chris Pusateri and is Professor of Creative Writing & Poetics at Naropa University.
