PETER GIZZI is the author of seven collections of poetry, most recently, Archeophonics (finalist for the 2016 National Book Award), In Defense of Nothing: Selected Poems 1987-2011, and Threshold Songs. His honors include the Lavan Younger Poet Award from the Academy of American Poets, and fellowships in poetry from The Rex Foundation, The Howard Foundation, The Foundation for Contemporary Arts, The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, and The Judith E. Wilson Visiting Fellowship in Poetry at the University of Cambridge. His editing projects have included o-blek: a journal of language arts, The Exact Change Yearbook, The House That Jack Built: The Collected Lectures of Jack Spicer and, with Kevin Killian, My Vocabulary Did This to Me: The Collected Poetry of Jack Spicer. He was also Poetry Editor for The Nation from 2007 to 2012. He has held residencies at The MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, The Foundation of French Literature at Royaumont, Un Bureau Sur L’Atlantique, the Centre International de Poesie Marseille (cipM), and Tamaas. He has been on the faculty at Brown University (1993-94), the University of California, Santa Cruz (1995-2001), the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics Summer Program at Naropa (1998, 2007), The University of New Orleans Summer Program in Madrid (2004), Summer Literary Seminars in St. Petersburg (2006), The Writer’s Workshop at The University of Iowa (Fall 2008), and the University of Cambridge (2011; 2015-16). He currently works at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

STEPHANE BOUQUET has written six collections of poems (including Nos amériques, 2010, Les amours suivants, 2013 and Vie Commune, 2016). He has also published a collection of essays on poetry (La Cité de Paroles, 2018). He has translated into French collections of the American poets Robert Creeley, Paul Blackburn, James Schuyler and three books by Peter Gizzi. As a screenwriter, he has worked with Sébastien Lifshitz on all his movies so far. In La Traversée (aka The Crossing), an autobiographical movie, he also played his own part. He wrote screenplays for Valérie Mréjen, Yann Dedet, Robert Cantarella. Redactor for The Cahiers du Cinéma, he has also published three essays on filmmakers : Gus Van Sant (éd . Cahiers du cinéma, 2009) ; Eisenstein (éd. Cahiers du cinéma, 2008) and Il Vangelo secondo Matteo (éd. Cahiers du cinéma, 2003). Though not a dancer at all, he worked with Mathilde Monnier for two of her shows : Déroutes, frère&sœur. He co-hosted during three years a program on contemporary dance for France-culture, a national radio broadcast. 

STEPHANE BOUQUET a publié plusieurs livres de poésie chez Champ Vallon (Les derniers en date, Les Amours suivants et Vie commune, Champ Vallon, 2013 et 2016). Il a proposé une traduction de divers poètes américains dont Paul Blackburn, James Schuyler et trois livres de Peter Gizzi. Son tout dernier livre paraît en avril 2018 : La Cité de Paroles, méditations sur la poésie dans la collection « en lisant, en écrivant » de José Corti. Il est par ailleurs co-scénariste après avoir été longtemps critique aux Cahiers du cinéma. Il a publié des études sur Clint Eastwood, Gus Van Sant, Eisenstein et Pasolini. Il a participé – en tant que danseur ou dramaturge – aux créations chorégraphiques de Mathilde Monnier, Déroutes (2002) et frère&sœur (2005). Et collabore régulièrement au théâtre avec Robert Cantarella.

Her latest publications are Hotel des Archives: A Trilogy (Station Hill Press, 2018), Our Lady of the Flowers, Echoic (Les Figues, 2013); Molloy: The Flip Side (BlazeVox, 2012) and Night Scales: A Fable for Klara K (United Artists, 2010). She is on the creative writing faculty at Wayne State University. Her play, Night Scales, a Fable for Klara K was produced at the Studio Theatre in Detroit under the direction of Aku Kadogo in 2010. She holds fellowships from The National Endowment for the Arts and the Kresge Foundation. Carrie Chappell’s work explores female perspectives as they confront the conflicting nostalgia for and injury perpetuated by Western patriarchal structures in North American and European cultures. Her poetry has appeared in Anastamos, Blue Mesa Review, CALAMITY, Cimarron Review, Cream City Review, FORTH Magazine, Harpur Palate, Juked, Pittsburgh Poetry Review, and The Volta. Her book essays have appeared in The Collagist, Diagram, FANZINE, The Iowa Review, Xavier Review, and Buried Letter Press.

Since completing her Master of Fine Arts from the University of New Orleans’ Creative Writing Workshop in 2013, she has shared her creative and scholarly writing, both in print and in public readings, and has actively sought to engage with and publish critical writing that prolongs the discussion of contemporary female-authored texts. Each April, she curates the Verse of April project, a digital anthology of homage to the poets. Currently, she lives, writes, and teaches in Paris, France, and serves as Poetry Editor for Sundog Lit.

L’œuvre de Carrie Chappell explore des perspectives féminines, face à la nostalgie conflictuelle pour et aux blessures perpétuées par les structures patriarcales occidentales dans les cultures nord-américaine et européenne. Cole Swensen is the author of 17 books of poetry, most recently On Walking On (Nightboat, 2017) and a collection of critical essays, Noise That Stays Noise (U. of Michigan, 2011). Her work has been awarded the Iowa Poetry Prize, the S.F. State Poetry Center Book Award, and the National Poetry Series, and has been a finalist twice for the L.A. Times Book Award and for the National Book Award. A former Guggenheim Fellow, she co-edited the Norton anthology American Hybrid and is the founding editor of La Presse. She has translated over twenty books of French poetry, prose, and art criticism, including Jean Frémon's Island of the Dead, which won the PEN USA Award in Translation. Marie Borel is a traveller, author and translator.
Her first collection was  Fin de citation, (cipM, 1995) translated into English as Close Quote, by Keith Waldrop, Burning Deck, 2001). Followed by Trompe-Loup, (Le bleu du ciel) with the English version Wolftrot, translated by Omar Berrada & Sarah Riggs, (La Presse 2003).
Other collections by Borel include Tombeau des caraïbes (contrat-maint, 2003), Priorité aux canards, (Editions de l’Attente, 2008), Le monde selon Mr Ben, (Fage éditions, 2008), Écrit sur du sable, (contrat-maint, 2008), Le Léopard est mort avec ses taches, (Editions de L’Attente, 2011) and LOIN,  (Editions de l’Attente, 2013). NYC author Elena Rivera and French poet, translator and cinéaste Stéphane Bouquet. Rivera is the translator for Bernard Noël, and Bouquet translates into French from both Italian and English, thus it will be a real treat to speak with these authors about their writing and translation work in a QandA session following the reading of their own poetry.

Stéphane Bouquet est poète, critique, traducteur et cinéaste qui vit à Paris. Il a publié six livres de poésie chez Champ Vallon (Dans l’année de cet

Eléna Rivera lives in New York but was born in Mexico City and spent her childhood in Paris. She is a poet and translator. The author of On the Nature of

Position and Tone, Field Press, (2012), The Perforated Map, (Shearsman Books, 2011), Remembrance ofThings Plastic, (LRL e-editions, 2010), Mistakes, Accidents and the Want of Liberty (Barque Press, 2006), Suggestionsat Every Turn (Seeing Eye Books, 2005), Unknowne Land (Kelsey St. Press, 2000), Wale; or, the Corse (Leave Books, 1995), and a pamphlet entitled Disturbances in the Ocean of Air (Phylum Press, 2005).  She won the 2010 Robert Fagles prize for her translation of Bernard Noël's The Rest of the Voyage, (Graywolf Press, 2011) and is a recipient of a 2010 National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship in Translation.
