BIO

Leonard Schwartz is the author of numerous books of poetry, including, most recently, Actualities I: Transparent, to the Stone, Actualities II and III: Two Burned Hotels, and Actualities IV/V Comic Earth (2021, 2022, 2023, Goats & Compasses). Heavy Sublimation (Talisman House, 2018) and Salamander: A Bestiary (Chax Press, 2017), with painter Simon Carr, are also out and about. His work in poetics The New Babel: Toward a Poetics of the Mid-East Crises (University of Arkansas Press, 2016), is inclusive of poetry, essays, and interviews. Other titles include If (Talisman House, 2012), and At Element (2011), which explore the idea of an eco-poetics, as well as The Library of Seven Readings (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2008). He edited and co-translated Benjamin Fondane’s Cine-Poems and Other, with New York Review Books. From 2003 to 2018 he produced and hosted the radio program Cross Cultural Poetics.

Vincent Broqua publie des textes à la croisée de la poésie, de l'essai et du récit. Il a publié, notamment Photocall, projet d'attendrissement (Petits Matins, 2021 prix du roman gay 2021 mention poésie), Récupérer (Les Petits Matins, 2015, tr en anglais par Cole Swensen comme « Recovery »), du jour (L'Ours Blanc, 2020), et chez Contrat Maint même = same (2013) et Given (novel for s.) (2009). Comme une politique de la légèreté, ses hétéronymes et lui mènent des enquêtes dans les champs de l'écriture, de la performance, du dessin et de la vidéo. Il a créé le collectif Double Change et la revue Quaderna.

 

Cynthia Hogue’s new poetry collection is instead, it is dark (Red Hen Press, 2023). Her ekphrastic Covid chapbook is entitled Contain (Tram Editions 2022), & her new collaborative translation from the French of Nicole Brossard is Distantly (Omnidawn 2022, tr with Sylvain Gallais). She served as Guest Editor for the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day for September (2022). Hogue was the inaugural Maxine and Jonathan Marshall Chair in Modern and Contemporary Poetry at Arizona State University. She lives in Tucson. She will read from her own work as well as selections from the recently published translations of Nicole Brossard.

 

Virginie Poitrasson est Écrivain, performeuse et traductrice qui explore les frontières entre les langues, les genres et les modes d'expression plastiques (sons, vidéos, sérigraphie). Autrice de Tantôt, tantôt, tantôt aux éditions du Seuil (2023), d’Une position qui est une position qui en est une autre aux éditions Lanskine, de Le pas-comme-si des choses, Il faut toujours garder en tête une formule magique et Demi-valeurs aux éditions de l’Attente. Son livre Il faut toujours garder en tête une formule magique a été adapté en Fiction radiophonique par France Culture. Avec le musicien Joce Mienniel, elle fait des lectures musicales et a créé le spectacle Chambre(s) à Écho(s)
